Can Synthetic Diamonds Be Better Than The Real Thing? Adam’s Jewelers offers its customers only the highest quality diamonds, each one certified as 100 percent natural. But technology has brought us an alternative, synthetic diamonds are virtually impossible to tell from a natural diamond, and for a less expensive price. Does this sound too good to be true? You just might want to do some homework before deciding, even if you are on a budget. First of all, it is easy to confuse synthetic diamonds with diamond simulants like cubic zirconium (CZ), moissanite, white sapphire, high leaded glass (rhinestones) or Yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG). While all of these may look like synthetic or natural diamonds in appearance, none of them are created solely out of carbon, the trait shared only by synthetic and natural diamonds.
